How to use it
- Tap the document you want to prepare — each one is already set to fit the official rules.
- Select a photo or scan from your phone. For the signature, thumb or declaration, the paper is cleaned to white and cropped automatically.
- Check the preview: the size and KB shown must be inside the official range.
- Download the JPG and upload it to the UPSSSC PET application form.

Rules for each document
Colour photograph (not older than 6 months)
- Official (OTR notice, point 8): “अभ्यर्थी को आवेदन पत्र में अपना अद्यतन रंगीन फोटोग्राफ 06 माह के अंदर का अपलोड करना होगा। फोटोग्राफ का साइज 50 kb से 100 kb के बीच तथा JPEG/JPG फार्मेट में होना चाहिए।”
- Recent colour photo, taken within the last 6 months. Pixel size, cm size and background colour are NOT stated in the 2026 notice.
- UPSSSC publishes a “List of Applications Having Photo Related Objections” on its website — an unclear or wrong photo holds up the application.
Signature (with your name written in Hindi below it)
- Official (OTR notice, point 9): “अभ्यर्थी का हस्ताक्षर हिन्दी अथवा अंग्रेजी में होना चाहिए अभ्यर्थी अपने हस्ताक्षर के नीचे स्वयं की हस्तलिपि में हिन्दी में अपना नाम अवश्य लिखेंगे। स्पष्ट किया जाता है कि अंग्रेजी भाषा के CAPITAL LETTERS में हस्ताक्षर अमान्य होंगे। हस्ताक्षर का साइज 30 kb से 50 kb के बीच तथा JPEG/JPG फार्मेट में होना चाहिए।”
- Sign in Hindi or English, then write your name in Hindi, in your own handwriting, below the signature.
- A signature in English CAPITAL letters is invalid.
- Pixel / cm size and ink colour are NOT stated.
General instructions
- OTR is compulsory for every future PET and mains application and is free (OTR notice points 1–2). Candidates who applied for PET-2025 must create their OTR with their PET-2025 registration number.
- OTR details cannot be changed after the OTR number is issued (point 11), except in the correction window announced on 31.07.2026: correct the OTR before registering for the next PET. For OTRs made with a PET-2025 registration number, name, date of birth and mobile number cannot be changed.
- Notice of 22.09.2026: candidates will be Aadhaar-verified at future UPSSSC exams — keep your Aadhaar biometrics (fingerprint and iris) updated.
- PET-2026 admit cards are released per exam date (17.10, 23.10 and 25.10.2026); a valid admit card is compulsory at the centre.

Where official sources disagree
- The PET-2026 advertisement (16-परीक्षा/2026) itself could not be opened: closed advertisements are no longer listed on upsssc.gov.in. The upload rules come from the OTR notice of 14.07.2026, which applies to every PET / mains application made after it (PET-2026 applications came later).
- The undated FAQ still linked from upsssc.gov.in gives older numbers: “अभ्यर्थी अपना 3.5 cm चौड़ा व 4.5 cm लम्बा रंगीन फोटोग्राफ (हस्ताक्षर सहित) (*.jpe,*.jpeg,*.jpg,*) प्रारूप में स्कैन करें जिसका न्यूनतम आकार 05 Kb तथा अधिकतम आकार 30 KB से कम होना चाहिए। हस्ताक्षर 1.5 cm लंबा तथा 3.5 cm चौड़ा होना चाहिए।” Its 5–30 KB photo band does not overlap the 2026 OTR band (50–100 KB), so there is no safe band — the newer OTR notice is used. Its cm sizes are not repeated in the 2026 notice, so they are not set here.
Next update: UPSSSC holds PET about once a year (PET-2025, PET-2026). Re-check the OTR rules and the next PET advertisement, expected around mid-2027.
