Online Signature Maker

Draw your signature with your finger, type your name in a handwriting style, or clean up a photo of the one you signed on paper. Download it as a transparent PNG for Word and PDFs, or as a JPG on white.

  • 100% private
  • Free · no signup
  • Works on any phone

How to use it

  1. Choose Draw, Type or Photo.
  2. Draw: sign in the box with your finger, a stylus or the mouse, and pick a thin, medium or bold pen. Type: enter your name and pick a handwriting style. Photo: choose a photo of your signature on white paper.
  3. Pick black or blue ink and tap “Create signature”.
  4. Choose PNG (transparent background) or JPG (white background), and 600 or 1200 px wide.
  5. Tap “Download”. To change something, tap “Edit signature”: your drawing, name or photo is still there.

Three ways to make your signature

  • Draw it in the big box with a finger, a stylus or the mouse. Like a real pen, the line gets thinner when you move fast and thicker when you go slow, and a stylus follows your pressure. Choose a thin, medium or bold pen; Undo removes the last stroke.
  • Type your name and pick one of four handwriting styles: Neat, Flowing, Bold or Slanted. Handy when you don't have a touch screen. Typing works with English letters; for a signature in Hindi, draw it or use a photo.
  • Photo: sign on plain white paper and choose a photo of it. The paper is removed and only the ink is kept. Tips for a clean result are on the transparent signature from a photo page.

All three come out in black or blue ink.

PNG or JPG?

Save asBackgroundUse it for
PNGTransparent (see-through)Word and Google Docs, PDFs, letterheads, signing over a printed line
JPGPlain whiteUpload boxes that accept only JPG, email, WhatsApp

A JPG can't be see-through, so a JPG signature always has a white background. If you see a white box round your signature in a document, use the PNG instead.

Trimmed, sharp and the right size

The empty space around your signature is cut away, leaving a small margin, so there is nothing to crop. Choose 600 px wide for documents and email, or 1200 px to print it large or keep it extra sharp. Both files are marked to print about 5 cm wide, the size of a signature on paper, so Word puts them in at signature size instead of across the whole page.

For exam and job application forms

Online forms for SSC, IBPS, SBI, RRB and state exams want the signature as a small JPG of an exact size, for example 140 × 60 px and 10–20 KB. This tool doesn't shrink files to a KB limit; Signature Resize does. Download the JPG here and choose it there, or find your exam on the exam sizes page.

Read the notification before you use a drawn or typed signature on an exam form. Bank exam notifications such as IBPS ask you to sign on white paper with a black ink pen, and the signature you upload is matched with the one you sign at the exam. The safe choice is to sign on paper, take a photo, and use that.

Is this a digital signature?

No. This makes a picture of your signature, which is the same as signing a printout and scanning it. That is fine wherever a scanned signature is accepted: application forms that ask for a signature image, letters, and Word or PDF documents you would otherwise print, sign and scan. It is not a digital signature under the IT Act. GST and company (MCA) filings, e-tenders and other portals that ask for a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) or Aadhaar eSign need those instead. If you're not sure, ask whoever asked for the signed document.

Sign a PDF

To put your signature on a PDF, such as an offer letter, a bank form or an agreement, use Sign PDF. It has this same signature maker built in, places the signature on the line, adds the date and initials, and saves the signed PDF.

Private: nothing is uploaded

Your signature is made inside your browser. It is never uploaded and isn't saved on this site or in your browser: close or reload the page and it's gone. Only the file you download stays, on your own device.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create my signature online for free?

Choose Draw and sign with your finger or mouse, or choose Type and enter your name. Tap “Create signature”, pick PNG or JPG and tap Download. It's free, with no sign-up and no watermark.

How do I get my signature as a transparent PNG?

Keep “PNG” selected after you create it. Its background is transparent (the grey-and-white squares in the preview show where), so only the ink shows on your document. To make one from a signature on paper, choose Photo.

Can I make a Hindi signature?

Yes, draw it. Typing works only with English letters, so for a signature in Hindi or any other script, use Draw, or sign on paper and use Photo.

Can I use it for SSC, IBPS or other exam forms?

Forms need an exact size and file size, such as 140 × 60 px and 10–20 KB, so take the JPG to Signature Resize. Bank exams ask for a signature made with a black pen on white paper that matches the one you sign at the exam, so for those, sign on paper and use a photo.

How do I add my signature to a Word document?

Download the PNG. In Word, choose Insert → Pictures → This Device and pick the file, then set Wrap Text to “In Front of Text” and drag it onto the signature line.

Is this a legal digital signature (DSC)?

No. It is a picture of your signature, the same as signing on paper and scanning it. Where a Digital Signature Certificate or Aadhaar eSign is required, such as GST and MCA filings or e-tenders, use those instead.

Is my signature saved or uploaded anywhere?

No. It is made inside your browser, never uploaded, and not stored on this site or in your browser. Close or reload the page and it's gone; only the file you download stays, on your device.
