  • 100% private
  • Free · no signup
  • Works on any phone

How to use it

  1. Type the size you need in KB (any value from 5 KB), or tap a quick size — 20, 50, 100, 200 or 500 KB.
  2. Tap “Select Photos” and pick one or many images. On a computer you can also drag & drop or paste with Ctrl+V.
  3. Each photo is compressed to the target size or just under it, keeping as much quality as possible.
  4. Tap “Download”. With several photos you get a single ZIP file.

Why do forms ask for such small photos?

Government, bank and university portals receive lakhs of applications, so they cap every upload at a few kilobytes. A phone camera photo is usually 2–5 MB — that is 50 to 100 times bigger than the 20–50 KB most forms allow. This tool brings it down to exactly the limit you need without making the photo blurry.

How we keep your photo sharp

Many compressors simply crush the JPEG quality until the size fits, which leaves faces blocky. ToolDabba first finds the right resolution for your target size, then fine-tunes the quality with a binary search. You get the clearest image that still fits under the limit.

  • Exact target: the result is always at or just below the size you choose.
  • Batch mode: compress many photos together and download them as one ZIP.
  • iPhone photos: HEIC photos are converted to JPG automatically on supported browsers.
  • Transparent PNGs get a clean white background instead of turning black.

Common upload sizes in bank exam forms

IBPS and SBI forms have used the following limits in recent years. Requirements can change, so treat this as a quick guide and always confirm with the official notification before you apply.

DocumentFile sizeDimensions
Photograph20 – 50 KB200 × 230 px
Signature10 – 20 KB140 × 60 px
Left thumb impression20 – 50 KB240 × 240 px
Handwritten declaration50 – 100 KB800 × 400 px

Tips for exam form photos

  • If a form says “20 to 50 KB”, choose 50 KB — closer to the maximum means better quality.
  • Crop the photo first so your face fills most of the frame; extra background wastes kilobytes.
  • Use a plain light background and good lighting — it compresses cleaner and looks better.
  • Need a signature? Use the 20 KB compressor.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce a photo to 50 KB on my phone?

Open this page in Chrome or Safari, keep 50 KB selected, tap “Select Photos” and choose your photo from the gallery. It is compressed in a second or two — then tap Download. No app install needed.

Does compressing reduce photo quality?

A little, because the file has to get smaller. ToolDabba keeps the highest quality that fits your target by balancing resolution and JPEG quality, so faces and text stay clear.

Why is my result a few KB below the size I chose?

The target is a maximum. Image files can only shrink in small steps, so we stop at the best step that stays under your limit — that way a portal checking “max 50 KB” will always accept it.

Can I compress many photos at once?

Yes. Select multiple photos together; each is compressed to the same target and you can download them individually or all together as a ZIP.

Will the compressed photo be accepted in government and bank exam forms?

Yes. The output is a standard JPG, the format exam portals such as IBPS, SBI, UPSC, NTA (NEET, JEE, CUET) and university forms accept. Always match the size and dimensions given in the official notification for your exam.

Is it safe? Do you upload my photo?

Your photo is never uploaded. ToolDabba compresses images inside your own browser, so the file never leaves your phone or computer. It even keeps working if your internet drops after the page has loaded.
