Word to PDF

Turn a .docx or .doc file into a PDF that looks the same on every phone and computer — for job applications, resumes, letters and assignments.

  • Deleted after converting
  • Free · no signup
  • Works on any phone

How to use it

  1. Tap “Select Word file” and choose your document (.docx, .doc, .odt or .rtf, up to 25 MB).
  2. Wait a few seconds while it is sent and converted.
  3. Tap “Download PDF”. The file is already deleted from our server.

Why send a PDF instead of a Word file?

A Word file can look different on someone else's phone or computer: fonts get swapped, tables move, pages break in new places. A PDF is fixed — it looks exactly the same everywhere and prints the same. That's why job portals, colleges and offices ask for resumes, applications and certificates as PDF.

What is kept

  • Text, headings, bold and italics, bullet and numbered lists
  • Tables, images, page size and margins, headers, footers and page numbers
  • Hindi and other Indian languages typed in Unicode (for example with Google Indic keyboard or Windows Hindi typing)
  • Calibri and Cambria are replaced by fonts with exactly the same letter widths, and Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New by their Liberation equivalents — so lines and pages break where they did in Word

Typed in Kruti Dev?

Kruti Dev and similar old Hindi fonts aren't real Hindi text — they draw Hindi shapes over English letters, and our server doesn't have those fonts, so the PDF would show English letters. Convert the text to Unicode first with Kruti Dev to Unicode, or save as PDF from Word on the computer where the font is installed.

What happens to your file

Almost every ToolDabba tool works inside your browser. Converting Office files needs real office software, which can't run in a browser, so this tool is the exception:

  1. Your file is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our own server in Helsinki, Finland (Hetzner).
  2. It is converted automatically by a program that has no internet access of its own — no person looks at it.
  3. The converted file is sent back to your phone or computer.
  4. Both files are deleted immediately. We keep only the time, the size and how long it took — never the name or content.

Details are in our privacy policy.

After converting

  • Form wants a smaller file? Compress PDF to 100, 200 or 500 KB.
  • Need to join it with certificates? Merge PDF.
  • Need to sign it? Sign PDF on your phone.

Frequently asked questions

Will the PDF look exactly like my Word file?

Almost always. Text, tables, images, lists and page layout are kept, and common Windows fonts are replaced by fonts with the same letter widths so pages break in the same places. Rare decorative fonts are swapped for a similar font.

Can I convert Word to PDF on my phone?

Yes. Open this page in Chrome or Safari, tap “Select Word file”, pick the document from your Files or WhatsApp downloads, and tap “Download PDF”. No app needed.

Does it work with old .doc files?

Yes — .docx, the older .doc, OpenDocument .odt and .rtf all work, up to 25 MB.

Will Hindi text come out right?

Yes, if it was typed in Unicode (Google Indic keyboard, Windows Hindi typing, Mangal or Nirmala fonts). Text typed in Kruti Dev needs converting to Unicode first.

Is it safe to upload my document?

Your file travels encrypted (HTTPS) to our server in Finland, is converted automatically — no person sees it — and is deleted together with the result as soon as the converted file is sent back to you, normally within seconds. We don't keep copies or use the content for anything else. Our other tools don't upload anything at all.
