Rules for each document

Live photograph (captured in OTR)

  • Official (Advt. No photo file is uploaded; no size / KB is stated.
  • Wait for the 5-second timer, then blink 2–3 times; if the photo is taken with your eyes closed, capture it again.
  • Look straight at the camera. Glasses are allowed if there is no glare on them; no black or sun-glasses.
  • Well-lit, white or light-coloured background (“Enlightened Background”); the photo must not be blurred or dark.
  • Your face must fill at least 50% of the photo; face and head not covered by cloth, shadow or hair; head, eyes, nose and chin clearly visible.
  • You can recapture until the photo is clear, but not after Final Submit. The photo on the admit card / attendance sheet must match you at the exam, or you can be disqualified.
  • Editing or tampering with the live photo using a photo-editor app cancels the candidature at any stage and can lead to legal action.

Signature in English (scanned)

  • Official (Advt.
  • Sign with a black or dark-blue pen inside a 7 cm wide × 2 cm high rectangle drawn on white A4 paper, scan it and crop the image to the rectangle: “आवेदक एक सफेद कागज (A4 size) पर 7 सेमी चौड़ाई एवं 2 सेमी ऊँचाई के एक आयताकार बॉक्स के भीतर काले या गहरे नीले रंग के पेन से हस्ताक्षर करें।”
  • Para 7 says the signature is fetched from OTR in Hindi and English (“हस्ताक्षर (हिन्दी व अंग्रेजी)”); the OTR has separate slots for “Full Signature (English)” and “Full Signature (Hindi)”, so make both files to these rules.
  • Only you may sign. A photograph of the signature taken with a mobile phone is not accepted (“मोबाईल फोन का उपयोग कर लिया गया हस्ताक्षर एवं अंगूठा निशानी का फोटोग्राफ स्वीकार नहीं किया जायेगा।”).
  • The signature on the admit card / attendance sheet must match the uploaded one, or you can be disqualified at any stage.

  • The advertisement gives the thumb impression the same rules as the signature: put it in the rectangle, crop the scan to the rectangle and upload it separately; JPEG, 280 × 80 to 560 × 160 px, 20–50 KB (“हस्ताक्षर एवं अंगूठा निशानी का आकार 50 के.बी. से ज्यादा नहीं होना चाहिए।”).

General instructions

  • Apply on the SSO portal (sso.rajasthan.gov.in) → Recruitment Portal. The live photo, signatures and thumb impression are made in the One Time Registration (OTR) and fetched into each application automatically.
  • State Recruitment Portal OTR manual (as on 02.01.2026): the KYC step asks for a live photo, a handwritten specimen and signatures in Hindi/English; the OTR one-time-edit list includes Live Photo, Handwritten Specimen, Full Signature (English), Full Signature (Hindi) and Left Thumb Impression. No size is published for the handwritten specimen.
  • Aadhaar-based face authentication on the OTR profile became mandatory after 31.01.2026 — until it is done you cannot apply for any recruitment on the State Recruitment Portal.
  • At the centre identity is checked against the photo ID, the admit-card photo and biometrics / face scan (RSSB exam-conduct guidelines, June 2026).
  • The photo / signature / thumb section (paras 7–8) is word-for-word the same in the Graduate (09/2026, pp. 11–12) and Senior Secondary (08/2026) advertisements.
  • Patwari and Village Development Officer are now recruited through the CET Graduate Level score (score valid for 3 years).

Where these numbers come from

Every value on this page is taken from the official Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB, formerly RSMSSB) documents below. If a newer notification is out, it takes priority.

Where official sources disagree

  • RSSB's “Exam Guidelines” page still lists an older “Instructions to upload photo and sign” sheet (file created 2016) and the RSMSSB general-instruction booklet (2015/2019), which ask for an UPLOADED photo: “Photo should be in JPEG format with a size of 3.5 cm * 4.5 cm.” “JPEG photo should be a minimum pixel of 240 * 320 sizes and a maximum of 480 * 640 sizes (0.3 megapixels).” “The size of file should be in between 50 KB to 100 KB.” The current advertisements replace this with a live photo captured in OTR. The signature numbers (280 × 80 to 560 × 160 px, 20–50 KB, 7 × 2 cm box) are the same in the old and new documents.

Next update: Next CET (both levels) expected around mid-2027 — re-check paras 7–8 of the new advertisements.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to upload a photo for Rajasthan CET?

No. Rajasthan CET captures your photo live in the application form (webcam or phone camera), so there is no photo file to resize. Follow the on-screen instructions: plain background, face clearly visible, no cap or dark glasses.

What is the signature size for Rajasthan CET?

As per the official notification: 280–560 × 80–160 px (width × height), 7 × 2 cm, file size 20–50 KB, format JPG / JPEG.

What is the thumb impression size for Rajasthan CET?

As per the official notification: 280–560 × 80–160 px (width × height), 7 × 2 cm, file size 20–50 KB, format JPG / JPEG.

Is 1 KB 1000 or 1024 bytes on these forms?

Notifications don't say, so ToolDabba keeps files safely inside the band — at most 1000 bytes per KB of the maximum and at least 1024 bytes per KB of the minimum — so the file passes either way.

Are my photo and signature uploaded to ToolDabba?

No. Everything is processed inside your browser; your files never leave your phone or computer.
