How to use it
- Tap the document you want to prepare — each one is already set to the size in the official notification.
- Select a photo or scan from your phone. For the signature, thumb or declaration, the paper is cleaned to white and cropped automatically.
- Check the preview: the size and KB shown must be inside the official range.
- Download the JPG and upload it to the UP Police Constable application form. Your live photo is taken inside the form itself.

Rules for each document
Live (real-time) photograph
- Para 5.7: “आवेदन पत्र में अभ्यर्थियों की Real time (लाइव) फोटोग्राफ ली जायेगी।” — webcam or other device. No size / KB / format / background stated.
- Photo with a cap is not accepted. Face must not be covered by mask, hair, cloth, shadow or jewellery. Glasses: no reflection, eyes clearly visible. Not blurred, no excessive glare.
- No uniform of any kind — application wearing a uniform is not accepted.
- If the live photo does not match the Aadhaar photo, a declaration in the online form is mandatory.
Signature (हस्ताक्षर)
- Para 5.8: “हस्ताक्षर का आकार 50mm X 20mm या 140 X 60 पिक्सल होना चाहिए।” “फाइल का साइज 30 KB से 50 KB के बीच होना चाहिए”.
- Sign with a black ink pen on white paper inside a 50 mm × 20 mm box.
- “हस्ताक्षर रनिंग लेटर्स में होना चाहिए, ब्लॉक लेटर्स में नहीं।” — running hand, not block letters. Must be the applicant's own.
Certificates not available in DigiLocker (education, reservation, age relaxation, domicile, NOC for govt employees)
- Para 5.11: certificates are fetched through DigiLocker; those not in DigiLocker are scanned and uploaded. No format or size is stated.
General instructions
- OTR (one-time registration) with DigiLocker verification is mandatory.
- Photo, fingerprint / iris and Aadhaar e-KYC are taken at every exam stage.
- The notice is a scanned Hindi PDF (pp. 23–24 for photo & signature).

Where official sources disagree
- Low confidence, unofficial: the application portal's JavaScript (www.upprpb.in) showed “Size of the file should be in between 5KB to 20KB” for the signature, against the notice's 30–50 KB. That code also had leftover railway text, so it is unreliable; the official notice value is used here.
