How to use it
- Tap the document you want to prepare — each one is already set to fit the official rules.
- Select a photo or scan from your phone. For the signature, thumb or declaration, the paper is cleaned to white and cropped automatically.
- Check the preview: the size and KB shown must be inside the official range.
- Download the JPG and upload it to the Agniveervayu application form. Your live photo is taken inside the form itself.

Rules for each document
Photograph holding a slate with your name and the photo date
- Official (para 42.3.1): “Passport size recent colour photograph (taken not before one month from date of registration) of size 100 KB to 200 KB in .jpg or .jpeg format only (front portrait in light background without facemask and head gear except for Sikhs).”
- “The photograph is to be taken with candidate holding a black slate in front of his/ her chest with his/ her name and date of photograph taken, clearly written on it with white chalk in capital letters while looking straight at the camera with a relaxed face.”
- The name and date go on a black slate you hold in the photo — not a printed strip added to the image. Pixel size NOT stated.
- “Change in appearance like growing beard, head gear etc., in comparison to the photograph may result in cancellation of candidature”.
Live photograph (device camera / webcam)
- Para 42.3.5: “Live image of the candidate will be captured during the online registration. The facial features of the candidate in the uploaded photo will be marked against the real time photo. Candidate will be able to submit the application, only in case of photo match.” Keep a web camera ready.
Candidate's signature
- Official (para 42.3.2): “Candidate has to sign on white paper with black ink pen and must be signed only by the candidate not by any other person. Scan the signature area only and not the entire page. Candidate’s signature image (Size 80 KB to 150 KB) in .jpg or .jpeg format only.” Pixel size NOT stated.
Parent's / guardian's signature (candidates below 18)
- Para 42.3.3: “Candidate’s parent’s (Father/ Mother)/ Guardian’s signature image properly scanned and properly uploaded at a specified place (if candidate is below 18 years on the date of filling the online application).” No size or format stated.
Left thumb impression
- Official (para 42.3.4): “Left thumb impression must be of the candidate and not of any other person. Please scan the left thumb impression area only and not the entire page. Left hand thumb should be inked by placing on stamp pad and then place this inked thumb on plain blank paper.” “(Size 50 KB to 100 KB in .jpg or .jpeg format only).”
- Unlike AFCAT, it is the left thumb for everyone.
Printed passport-size photos for Phase-II (8 copies)
- Para 30.4: “Eight copies of un-attested passport size colour photograph (which was used for the online application registration).”
General instructions
- Register at iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in → Agniveervayu (the old agnipathvayu.cdac.in address returned 503).
- Same photo / signature / thumb numbers as AFCAT, but Agniveervayu adds the slate rule, the one-month photo age and the parent's signature.
