General instructions

  • “Candidates are not required to attach/upload any documents along with the application form. However, they must upload their recent photograph and signature.”
  • Apply at indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement (indiapostgdsonline.cept.gov.in returned an error; indiapostgdsonline.gov.in still shows the January 2025 schedule).
  • The older January 2025 schedule said photo not exceeding 50 KB and signature not exceeding 20 KB — the 2026 notification changed this.

Where these numbers come from

Every value on this page is taken from the official Department of Posts, India Post documents below. If a newer notification is out, it takes priority.

Where official sources disagree

  • User manual (step 19) says signature “Minimum 20 KB, maximum 50 KB” vs notification 20–100 KB.
  • User manual writes the photo aspect as “5:4 (portrait)”, the notification as “4:5 (Width: Height)” — both mean portrait; 320 × 400 px fits both.

Next update: Next GDS schedule expected early 2027.
